Established law firm in North Raleigh area is seeking a Full-Time Litigation Paralegal to join their practice.  The ideal candidate must have 5 years experience/working knowledge in creditor rights, commercial, business litigation and construction law.

Job Description:

The candidate will be responsible for supporting 1 and occasionally 2 partners in various aspects of collection/creditors’ rights, business litigation, and construction litigation.  This is an opportunity to work in a flexible capacity and to assist with administrative and paralegal support focused to generally one attorney. Schedule and vacation time is flexible. Competitive compensation based on experience.

Duties will include:

  • Client intake duties, including obtaining preliminary information and developing new file, calendaring statute of limitations and other deadlines;
  • Assist in calendaring of all timelines, appearances, deadlines, etc;
  • Scheduling hearings, mediations, foreclosures, depositions, court reporters, and others pertaining to cases;
  • Maintain/ update active file list and document, review, maintain files;
  • Drafting client, court, opposing counsel correspondence;
  • Providing updates to clients throughout course of cases;
  • Preparing exhibits; Preparing trial notebooks, case law, and related materials for hearings;
  • Filing of documents with various North Carolina courts;
  • Obtaining service of process, checking civil process of documents with various sheriff’s offices; and obtaining summonses and writs from the Courts;
  • Assist with drafting of basic motions, pleadings, and correspondence;
  • Calendar, track, and assists with drafting requests and responses, client correspondence, and other various aspects of discovery requests and responses;


  • NC Certified paralegal or 5 years minimum experience as paralegal in one or more of our practice areas is required;
  • Knowledge of NC courts and their rules and requirements;
  • Working knowledge of NC Rules of Civil Procedure;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office & Adobe Acrobat;
  • Good time management skills and attention to detail required; and
  • Excellent communication with various clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel required.
